TAANG is a Lanna fine dining restaurant in Bangkok. It takes guests on a journey through the food, people and cultures of Lanna and the Upper Mekong. Executive Chef and Concept Creator Kongwuth Chaiwongkachon leads the experience. Each course begins with an ingredient, its origin and the people connected to it.
The name TAANG draws inspiration from the caravan, a symbol of movement and exchange across the region. These journeys carried ingredients, knowledge and ways of life between communities. As cultures met, they left traces in the culinary traditions that continue to shape the region today.
Chef Kong brings the same spirit of discovery to his cooking. Over the years, he has travelled through northern communities to learn from local cooks, farmers and communities. He studies native ingredients, preservation methods and culinary traditions at their source. The result is Lanna fine dining shaped through a contemporary lens while remaining rooted in its origins.
At TAANG, the experience unfolds course by course across landscapes, memories and cultures. Every element has a reason for being there. Guests do more than taste the Upper Mekong. They discover the stories that have travelled through it.
