Takashi Sasaki

Chef Owner at Kappo Takashi

Born into a family of chefs, Takashi Sasaki grew up in the kitchen of his grandfather, who was a Japanese cuisine chef at a traditional ryokan in Iwate. Takashi was captivated by the beautiful and varied flavours of Japanese food and learned how to cook at a very young age, with his grandfather and father passing on all of their knowledge and expertise to him.

After his graduation from Abeno Tsuji, a world-class culinary institute in Osaka, he honed his skills in a few Japanese restaurants in Kyoto and Iwate, his hometown. With 17 years of culinary experience in Japan, Chef Takashi decided to challenge himself by opening his very own Japanese restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand, where his aim is to introduce diners to the natural tastes of Japanese cuisine through his creative dishes, which are all curated and crafted by himself.
